Development Policy & Application Procedures
This document provides an overview of Centennial Airport’s development policies and the application process for prospective projects.
Development Policy and Application Procedures
Airport Signage
Signage on Centennial Airport property is limited to airport tenants and requires prior written approval before installation. This applies to both permanent and temporary signage. Signs installed without approval are subject to removal.
Signage GuidelinesApplicants must provide plans or a sketch that depicts the sign's layout and dimensons.
All signage must be in compliance with the Centennial Airport Development Policies and be approved by the Director of Planning & Development. Failure to comply will result in removal request.
Any permits required by Arapahoe County or Douglas County are the responsibility of the applicant.
Cranes and Construction
Any crane or construction activity near Centennial Airport may be subject to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) review to ensure the work does not create a hazard to aircraft operations.
If you are planning construction or installing a crane near the airport, please begin by using the FAA’s Pre-Screening Tool to determine whether your proposed structure or alteration requires official notice to the FAA.
If the tool determines that notice is required, you must submit FAA Form 7460-1 – Notice of Proposed Construction or Alteration through the FAA’s Obstruction Evaluation/Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA) portal (oeaaa.faa.gov) before work begins.
The FAA review may take up to 90 days.
To access the Pre-Screening Tool or file a 7460-1, visit the FAA’s Obstruction Evaluation/Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA) site here: oeaaa.faa.gov
On-Airport Projects
If the crane or construction activity is located on airport property, please contact the airport authority first. Centennial Airport must help facilitate the FAA review for all on-airport projects.
