Centennial Airport Runway 5K Returns June 6, 2026 with “Hotdogs and Airplanes” Theme

Centennial Airport is excited to announce the return of its Runway 5K, presented by jetCenters of Colorado, happening Saturday, June 6, 2026. Registration officially opens on Wednesday, February 18. The Centennial Airport Runway 5K is designed for all ages and abilities and offers an unforgettable opportunity to experience one of the world’s busiest general aviation airports in a whole new way. Participants will run or walk on a real runway and taxiway before enjoying a lively post-race celebration. 

 

What to Expect in 2026

• A limited-edition race t-shirt and finisher medal

• The Denver Broncos mascot and cheerleaders cheering participants on

• Post-race festivities, food, drinks (including beer for 21+), vendors, giveaways, and more

• Access to Wings Over the Rockies™ Exploration of Flight

• Unique aircraft and emergency response vehicles on display

 

A Race That’s Making a Real Impact

What started as a single community event has quickly become a powerful driver of opportunity for the future of aviation. Thanks to the success of the first two Runway 5K events, Centennial Airport proudly launched its own Scholarship Program through the Centennial Airport Foundation, made possible entirely by donors and Runway 5K supporters.

In just two years:

The 2024 Runway 5K welcomed over 1,000 participants, raising more than $65,000 for the Centennial Airport Foundation

The 2025 Runway 5K sold out with over 1,600 participants and raised $85,000+ for the Centennial Airport Foundation

 

Proceeds from the Runway 5K help fund scholarships and educational opportunities for the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals, including students pursuing aviation management, professional pilot careers, and aircraft maintenance/A&P training.
