New Aircraft Run-Up Areas at APA
On October 1, 2011 the Centennial Air Traffic Control Tower instituted a new air traffic procedural change. With this new procedure, Centennial Ground Control will no longer taxi aircraft requiring run-ups to A1 or A18. Ground Control will now taxi aircraft to two alternate North and South Run-Up areas that have been designated on the airfield (Aircraft Run-Up Area Map)
The North Run-Up area is a box marked with a white dashed line just south of A1 and east of Taxiway A. The South Run-Up areas is located at the northeast corner of the A16 intersection . These new run-up areas are only able to accommodate a small number of aircraft and when they are full, Ground Control may request an aircraft perform a run-up at C1 prior to receiving futher taxi instructions.
