2009 AIP Construction
YOUR MONEY AT WORK
Centennial Airport has received approximately $9 Million worth of FAA Airport Improvement Program grants which are being used this year for airport construction improvements. The money you have spent in the aviation community is being reinvested for improvements here at your local airport.
TAXILANE/BLAST PAD RESURFACING
APRIL — MAY
Taxilane Charlie (outer ramp taxilane) north of Runway 10/28 will be resurfaced. The blast pad for Runway 10 will be upgraded from millings to asphalt and the runway will be restriped. The project will be completed in three phases of construction. Runway 10/28 will be closed for approximately 5 days.
RUNWAY CONNECTOR PROJECT
MID MAY — JULY
Two high speed connectors are being reconfigured for improved runway capacity. During this project, we anticipate a closure of RY17L/35R for approximately 45 days, from mid-May through June. Connectors A-5 & A-9 will be reconfigured to meet new FAA Standards, and provide rapid access to the major airport ramp intersections. Connectors A-4 and A-8 will be widened and resurfaced, while non standard connector A-10 will be removed. As a recommendation of the FAA Runway Safety Action Team, surface painted hold signs will be added to all connectors in order to reduce runway incursions. Portions of Taxiway-A will also be closed as needed during the project. The airport will remain open with Runways 17R/35L and 10/28 available for normal use.
TAXILANE RESURFACING
SUMMER — EARLY FALL
The West ramp taxilane adjacent to Taxiway-A between A-1 and A-8 will be resurfaced. Also being resurfaced is the east portion of Taxilane Charlie, the inner ramp taixlane, and the east ramp taxilane in area Hotel.
