National Distaster Medical System Exercise
On Wednesday April 20, 2011 the Veterans Adminstration will be conducting a full scale NDMS exercise from Centennial Airport. The exercise will involve some 10 helicopters that will be arriving and departing the airport approximately every five (5) minutes. These helicopters will be going to multiple hospitals throughout the Denver Metro Area. The bulk of the helicopter activity will be from 9AM to 2PM and will include a mix of Army Blackhawks and civilian aircraft. The airport apologizes in advance for any noise disturbances created by this excercise; however, this exercise will greatly benefit patient care in Denver Metro Area in the event of a national distaster.
