Draft Environmental Assessment
In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Draft EA was prepared to address the potential environmental impacts that could result from the implementation of new Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) flight routes and procedures in the Denver Complex Airspace. Specifically, the Proposed Action evaluated in this EA is the implementation of new RNAV procedures, inclusive of Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and Optimized Profile Descent (OPD), for DEN, APA and BJC in order to improve the safety and efficiency of the Denver Complex Airspace. The RNAV and RNP procedures would be used by RNAV/RNP-capable aircraft only. Detailed noise analysis was conducted for the Proposed Action in accordance with FAA Order 1050.1E, and is presented in the Draft EA.
The public meetings for the Draft EA will be held at locations near each of the three study airports on
June 26th, 27th and 28th from 5:30 - 8:00 PM. The meetings will be held in an Open House format with FAA personnel available to answer questions, with a presentation regarding project information and Draft EA findings each night at 6:00 PM. The same content will be presented at each meeting; however, aspects of each meeting may appeal more to the nearby study airport. The dates and locations of the public meetings are as follows:

The FAA encourages interested parties to review the Draft EA and provide comments during the public comment period. Written comments will be accepted by the FAA until July 10, 2012. The public is invited to comment at the meetings to a certified court reporter or by comment form, or by mail or email to the following address:
