In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Draft EA was prepared to address the potential environmental impacts that could result from the implementation of new Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) flight routes and procedures in the Denver Complex Airspace. Specifically, the Proposed Action evaluated in this EA is the implementation of new RNAV procedures, inclusive of Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and Optimized Profile Descent (OPD), for DEN, APA and BJC in order to improve the safety and efficiency of the Denver Complex Airspace. The RNAV and RNP procedures would be used by RNAV/RNP-capable aircraft only. Detailed noise analysis was conducted for the Proposed Action in accordance with FAA Order 1050.1E, and is presented in the Draft EA.
